DTS and AC3 Passthrough Audio Problem
#1
Hi, I'm experiencing audio drops when playing DTS content using  Kodi 16.1 via hdmi passthrough.

This seem to happen about every 4-5 seconds, when sound just drops for half a second or so.

Any idea how to fix the problem ?

Thanks

You play 1080p or 4K? 4K 10 bit or 8bit? If you play 4K 10 bit, it would be alittle stuck.
And the drop relate to video source and the USB flash disk.

Hi there !   Thanks for your reply .  But I'm playing just DTS WAV format audio files with Kodi  for example .It's a known problem with 905 chipsets .
I found a workaround actually   : Changing a following value :

/sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec   from 0 to 2  fixes the problem .

I did a startup script  :   echo 2 >  /sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec   at the boot start .

The problem I'm having now is I'm losing a sound completely after Power-off a box using remote and I have to power cycle/reboot the box completely to get it back .

Where would you like me to upload it to ?

Or download any Audio DTS/WAV or flac format file then
Connect DTS capable AV receiver and enable HDMI passtrough on Kodi and make sure you're getting DTS sound output not a Stereo downmix . You'll hear the sound is being dropped every 5/7 seconds

I registered to also say im getting the same problems. dts playback has hiccups every few seconds on any dts enabled file while playing in Kodi.
can this be rectified in a firmware update? if so, when would that be?

wanted to mention the dts audio drops were happening to me on the A95X S905X box

Found something interesting:
- DTS playback on Kodi, seems to drop every 7 seconds or so, we know this already. However if playing through Media Center which is the box's built in media player streamer then there are no drops on DTS.
