Unroot help
#1
Hi,

I installed this new Marshmallow firmware on my Dolamee D5 box, and now I have trouble with some streaming apps whose warn me that I have root access.

I didn't root this device, and all of the root checker apps tell me that my device is not rooted, but I noticed by using ES file explorer that there is busybox file in system/bin folder.

Can this be a problem, and how to get rid of this file without actual rooting my device?

I also tried to unpack firmware .img file with some PC software to delete this file, but I can't unpack the .img file.

I just want to delete this busybox file and change my build.conf file from test-keys to release-keys.

I think that this changes will remove this ghostly root, but I don't know how to modify this .img file and remove this busybox file and edit build.conf file.

Can someone help me how to do this?

For better results you must have first fully rooted your tv box with super user app, then to erase busybox and finally from inside the super user app to fully unroot your device!
Good luck!

I tried to do that by following instructions on this forum, but when I boot to recovery I can't install twrp.img file, or install super-su.zip.

I also tried apps like Kingsroot for automatic root process but they all fail to root my device.

Good luck!

I resolved this problem by instaling marshmallow firmware again and then I installed Root Explorer app which helped me to delete busybox and su files and also edit tag attribute in build.prop file from test-keys to release-keys.

And now all the desired apps work and I'm fully unrooted.

Care to be a little more specific in what you did. I also would like to unroot. Thanks
